1. Getting started

Creating your hellodjt account takes under a minute and requires no credit card.

  1. Go to hellodjt.com/register and choose a username — this becomes the permanent URL for your primary card.
  2. Enter your email address. We send a one-time code each time you sign in — no password to remember.
  3. Choose an account type: Personal (free) or Business (for teams).
  4. Click Create account. Check your email for the sign-in code.
Username rules: 3–30 characters, lowercase letters, digits, and hyphens only. Your username is permanent and becomes your primary card URL.

Go to hellodjt.com/login, enter your email, and check your inbox for a 6-digit code. Codes expire after 10 minutes.

2. Your card URL

Your primary card is always at:

hellodjt.com/username

Additional cards (non-primary) live at:

hellodjt.com/username/cardname

These URLs are permanent. Sharing them via link, QR, or NFC always points to the same place — even if you change your card's design or content.

vCard download: Every card automatically supports hellodjt.com/username/vcard — a standard contact file compatible with all phones and email clients.

3. Building your card

Open hellodjt.com/builder (or click Edit next to any card in your dashboard) to open the card builder.

Fields available

Publish your card

Cards are private by default until you click Publish. Published cards are publicly accessible at your card URL. Unpublish any time to take the card offline.

4. Templates

All five templates are available on both Personal and Business plans. Switch templates any time from the card builder — your URL and data stay the same.

Minimal
Clean, dark, content-first layout. Works for any profession.
Dark background
Professional
Light, structured layout. Ideal for corporate and formal roles.
Light background
Creative
Bold typography on a dark canvas. Great for designers and creatives.
Dark background
Bold
High-contrast, impactful design. Makes a strong first impression.
Dark background
Executive
Refined dark layout with subtle elegance. For senior professionals.
Dark background
Organisation branding: On Business accounts, your organisation's logo appears on all team member cards automatically. Dark-background templates use your light logo; the Professional template uses your dark logo.

5. Sharing your card

Direct link

Copy your card URL (hellodjt.com/username) and share it anywhere — email signature, LinkedIn bio, Slack profile, or a message.

QR code

Open the card builder and click QR code to generate a scannable QR code for your card URL. Download it as a PNG to use in print materials, presentations, or on a physical business card.

NFC tags

Write your card URL to any NFC tag using your phone's native NFC writer (iOS 13+ and Android both support this). Anyone who taps the tag is taken directly to your card.

vCard download

Visitors can download a standard .vcf contact file from hellodjt.com/username/vcard. This adds your details directly to their phone's contacts app.

6. Token-gated access

By default, published cards are public. You can restrict access so only people with a specific link can view your card.

How it works

  1. In your dashboard, find the card you want to protect and expand the Access section.
  2. Set the access mode to Token required.
  3. Click + New token, give it a label (e.g. "For ACME recruiter"), and copy the generated link.
  4. Share the token link with the individual — only they can access the card via that link.

Fallback URL

Set a Fallback URL for visitors who arrive without a valid token. They'll be redirected there instead of seeing an error — useful for sending people to your public LinkedIn or a landing page.

Revoking access

Revoke any token at any time from the Access panel. Revoked tokens immediately stop working. You can see how many times each token has been used.

7. Multiple cards

hellodjt supports multiple card types beyond business cards. Your account limits depend on your plan:

Card type Personal Business (per member)
Business cards Up to 3 1 (scales with team)
Product detail Up to 2 Up to 3
Landing pages 1 1
Promotions Up to 2 Up to 5
Event cards 1 1

Your primary card is the one served at hellodjt.com/username. All other cards live at hellodjt.com/username/cardname. You can change which card is primary from the dashboard.

8. Business & Team features

Business accounts unlock team management. As the organisation owner, you can invite colleagues, assign roles, and create managed cards.

Roles

Inviting members

  1. Go to hellodjt.com/team.
  2. Enter the colleague's email address and choose their role.
  3. Click Send invite. They receive an email with a link to create or connect their account.
  4. Once they accept, they appear as an active member and can start building their card.

Managed cards

Managed cards let you create a card on behalf of a colleague who doesn't need their own login — you control the card entirely. This is useful for contractors, temporary staff, or anyone who needs a card but won't be using the platform themselves.

Create a managed card from the Add managed card section on the team page. You'll provide a display name, email (for reference), a card URL slug, and a starting template.

Ownership transfer

Organisation ownership can be transferred to any active member. Go to Team, find the transfer option, and follow the confirmation steps. The transfer is secured by an email confirmation sent to the new owner.

9. Organisation branding

Business accounts can apply organisation branding across all member cards. When active, your brand name and logo replace the default "powered by hellodjt.com" pill on cards — though the hellodjt watermark remains present.

Setting up branding

  1. Go to hellodjt.com/team (owner account required).
  2. Scroll to the Branding section.
  3. Enter your Brand name — shown on cards instead of the hellodjt pill.
  4. Provide two logo URLs: a Light logo and a Dark logo.
  5. Click Save branding.

Light vs dark logos

Most card templates have dark backgrounds — they need a light (white or pale) logo so it's visible. The Professional template has a light background — it needs a dark logo.

Logo hosting: Your logos must be hosted at a publicly accessible HTTPS URL. Upload them to your CDN, website, or a service like Cloudinary or S3 and paste the URL here.
